Protecting our Public Lands

The Trump administration announced on December 4 its plan to reduce the size of two Utah national monuments: Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante. Bears Ears would be reduced by 85% while Grand Staircase by 50%.

Many outdoor recreation retailers, including Patagonia and REI, environmental conservationists and Native American tribes have spoken up about their disapproval of the plan.

“Today’s decision hurts the people who love these places. American enjoy our public lands in every part of the country, irrespective of politics.”
